The BEST Tofu Scramble
Yep, you read that title right. This is the BEST tofu scramble recipe that my husband and I have been perfecting for 6 YEARS! It is the most flavorful tofu scramble recipe out there with the perfect blend of spices. Get ready to save this one for every weekend brunch!

Ingredient notes:
- Extra firm tofu: This is the best tofu for tofu scramble. I do NOT recommend a medium or silken tofu. It will be too liquidy and soft for this scramble.
- Black Salt: Also known as kala namak, black salt has a unique flavor profile with a distinctive sulfurous and slightly eggy taste, which is primarily due to the presence of sulfur compounds. Only a small amount is needed for this tofu scramble. You can find it is commonly available in grocery stores, especially those that carry a variety of international or South Asian products. You can also find it in specialty spice shops or online retailers that offer a wide range of culinary ingredients, like on Amazon here.
- Nutritional yeast: This is added at the egg for a slight cheesy flavor to the tofu scramble.

📝Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, crumble your tofu with your fingers into med/small pieces. Leave some larger pieces if desired for more texture.
Step 2: Add all your spices to the tofu and mix gently until thoroughly coated.
Step 3: In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, warm some olive oil for a few minutes. Add in your tofu scramble. Cook for 8-10 minutes until it starts to brown and crisp slightly.
Step 4: Add nutritional yeast, mix, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Step 5: Serve right away with toast, avocado, salsa, or whatever side you would like for the perfect breakfast.

- 1 16 ounce block extra firm tofu drained and pressed for only 10 minutes*
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4-1/2 tsp salt Start with 1/4 tsp and add more to your preferrence.
