Ingredients
Ingredient notes:
- Brussel sprouts: You just need 1 lb of brussel sprouts for this recipe. Save the leaves and roast along side your brussels for a crispy “chip”!
- Vegan mayo: If you’re vegan, use a vegan mayonnaise such as Vegenaise from Follow Your Heart or another brand you enjoy.
- Sweet chili sauce: This is a condiment made from chili peppers, sugar, and vinegar and has a sweet and mildly spicy taste. It can typically be found in the international or Asian foods section of most grocery stores.

📝Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 F.Place your halved brussels sprouts on a baking sheet. Toss with olive oil, minced garlic, and salt and pepper to taste.Turn your halves FACE DOWN (this is a little tedious, but is crucial to getting them crispy).
Roast your brussel sprouts for 25-30 minutes or until browned and crispy.*I will gently stir my brussel sprouts halfway, but avoid flipping so that the bottom can get as crispy as possible.
Step 2: While your brussel sprouts roast, make your Bang Bang sauce by whisking the ingredients together in a small bowl.
Step 3: When your brussel sprouts are finished roasting, drizzle the Bang Bang sauce EITHER over the whole batch of sprouts (if you plan to eat them all), or on individual servings.
Store leftovers separately.
Enjoy!
❓Recipe FAQs
Bang Bang Sauce is a zesty condiment commonly used in Asian cuisine, characterized by its creamy and spicy blend of mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and hot sauce. It is often associated with dishes like Bang Bang Shrimp or Chicken.
The sauce definitely has a little kick from the sriracha, but it’s balanced with the sweetness of the sweet chili sauce. You can adjust the amount of sriracha to your liking.
Brussels sprouts may not be getting crispy if they are too crowded on the pan, preventing proper air circulation, or if they are not thoroughly dried before roasting, as excess moisture can hinder crispiness. Additionally, ensure that the oven is preheated adequately at 425F. Flip all your brussel sprouts over to get the crispiest bottoms.
Place in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. Keep the sauce in a separate container. Reheat stovetop or in the air fryer.
Pro Tips
- Ensure your brussels sprouts are completely dry before roasting to achieve crispiness. Excess moisture can hinder the browning process.
- Keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking, which can result in a mushy texture. They’re done when they’re golden brown with crispy edges.
- Only drizzle sauce on the sprouts you plan to eat. Leftover sprouts should be stored separately from the sauce to prevent sogginess.

Hi Donna, Thanks so much for your review! So happy to hear your son likes them 😛 Always a win when you get your kids to eat more veggies!
That Bang Bang Sauce!!!! It got a Chef’s Kiss from everyone at the table. It was just the right amount of spiceness and sweetness. Even those that dislike Brussels sprouts were devouring it. It was super easy to make and so very tasty. Now, I made a big batch of the sauce and make the family eat their broccoli or other veggies. Thanks for a delicious recipe.
Wow thanks so much Vanessa! Really glad they all enjoyed it 🙂
