Immunity Shots

I'm not spending another dollar on those expensive immunity shots in the grocery store...because homemade immunity shots are SO much better and easy to make! After tasting my fair share over the years (homemade and store-bought), I've found the perfect combination of immune-boosting ingredients. Other shots are bitter and almost too potent- I can barely get it down! These homemade immunity shots are actually enjoyable with the perfect balance of orange, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. I keep these stocked in my fridge throughout winter season not only to keep my immune defense strong but also have a yummy mini drink to look forward to every morning.

Ingredients

Orange Ginger Immunity Shots (makes ~6 shots)

  • 3 large oranges peeled
  • 1 medium lemon peeled
  • 1.5-2 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • few grinds of freshly ground black pepper
  • pinch of cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

Peel Your Orange, Lemon & Ginger

  • Using a knife, trim off the peel of the oranges, lemon and ginger.
3 large oranges, 1 medium lemon, 1.5-2 inch piece of fresh ginger

Blend

  • In a high speed blender or food processor, add your orange, lemon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, cayenne (optional) and water. Blend until fully combined.
3/4 cup water, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, few grinds of freshly ground black pepper, pinch of cayenne pepper

Strain

  • Use a fine mesh strainer to strain out the pulp. Use a spoon to help the liquid move through the strainer faster.

Pour

  • Use a small funnel to pour your immunity juice into the glass bottles. I used 2 oz bottles (see below for Amazon bottles I purchased). You will make ~8 bottles (this can vary slightly depending on the size of your oranges). Top with the cap and place in the fridge.
The immunity shots will last up to a week or so in the fridge. You can freeze them for a few months, but make sure to leave extra room on top for the liquid to expand.
You can enjoy one every morning or a few times a week!

Notes

My favorite immunity shot bottles from Amazon.
Try out my Elderberry Immunity Shots for more of an immune boost!
What else could I add to these ginger immunity shots?
  • Honey - vegan honey or regular. Has antibacterial properties.
  • Carrot juice - for more Vitamin A
  • Coconut water - for extra electrolytes
  • Apple cider vinegar - antimicrobial properties and aids in digestion
