Sesame Butter Tofu

There's nothing better than this mouthwatering sesame butter tofu with a simple marinade sauce that is pan-fried with golden brown tofu.

Ingredients

Sesame Butter Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon melted vegan butter (salted)
  • 1.5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons tahini sesame seed paste
  • 2 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon grated ginger or ginger pase
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Cooked broccoli and/or red pepper for serving

Instructions

  • Cut your pressed tofu into cubes or slices.
    14 oz block extra firm tofu
  • Warm some sesame in a medium or large pan on medium heat. Add tofu cubes and pan-fry until golden brown to your liking. (This will take ~ 10 minutes).
    1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • While the tofu cooks, you can prepare the simple sesame butter sauce. Whisk together the sauce in a small bowl.
    1 tablespoon melted vegan butter, 1.5 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoons tahini, 2 teaspoon maple syrup, 1 clove garlic, ½ teaspoon grated ginger
  • Once the tofu is golden, turn the heat down to low and let it cool for a minute. Add the sauce and stir until combined. Warm the tofu for a few minutes then serve over rice or noodles with veggies .
    Optional: sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onion.
